The Beaver Valley Lions Club awarded its annual scholarships to Kian Johnstone and Taryn Verhelst for the upcoming post-secondary school year.The Lions Club annually selects two students from the Beaver Valley area for the $2,000 award, based on academic standings, but more important is the number of volunteer hours the students put in. The students also submit a letter of qualification, are interviewed and ultimately selected by the Lions’ committee. Submitted photo.
