A pair of cadets set out onto Kootenay Lake as part of a joint boat launch between Nelson and Trail corps Saturday.

It was a fine day to capsize a boat.

Sea cadets from Nelson's 81 Hampton Gray V.C. and Trail's 131 Kootenay Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps gathered Saturday at Lakeside Park for their second boat launch of the year.

The cadets, who varied in age from 12 to 18, ran through a number of drills and tests that included capsizing their own boats and turning it back upright in Kootenay Lake.

Both corps will reunite for two more launches in the fall.
