• Sunday, The Bailey Theatre, 2 p.m. Midsummer Night’s Dream. Children’s series performance; a brand-sparkling-new adaptation of Shakespeare’s whimsical classic about fairies, love potions and talking donkeys. Created by the award winning storytelling masters of Monster Theatre.
• Wednesday (March 29) MacIntyre Room, 2-4 p.m. Author reading, Lee Reid. “Open the door; step inside. The kettle’s on, and there are stories to be told that will nourish your own personal journey with aging.” Join Lee Reid as she steps across thresholds and into the lives of West Kootenay elders with a reading of her book “Growing Home: the Legacy of Kootenay Elders” and slide presentation. Free admission.
• Community Volunteer Income Tax Program running until April 21. Free-of-charge service to low income individuals who satisfy certain limits and restrictions. First-come basis. Mondays, 9-11 a.m. at Trail Senior Citizens’ Branch, Tuesdays 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Kate’s Kitchen on Rossland Avenue, Wednesdays from 9-11 a.m. at Trail FAIR, Thursdays from 9-11 a.m. at Beaver Valley Manor and Fridays 9-11 a.m. in Esling Park Lodge, Rossland.

Johnson, “Until We Get There.” Johnny and his group of local musicians bring a fundraising show in support of the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation, proceeds for the hospital’s emergency room. An evening of ranch rock, fol and country music an an array of Canadiana songs from his previous BCCMA nominated Album of the Year, “Prairie Roots Grow Deep.”

• April 8, Warfield Community Hall, 9 a.m. start for Springtacular Craft Fair. Relatively Creative hosting 1st annual fair, $2 admission. Proceeds to the United Way of Trail and District. Runs until 3 p.m.
• April 8, Royal Theatre, 9 a.m. Met Opera presents Idomeneo. Like many stories from Greek myth, Idomeneo explores the motivations and emotions of humans whose fates seem beyond their own control.Long neglected along with other works of this era, Idomeneo now holds a firm place in the repertoire as the first of Mozart’s operatic masterpieces.
• April 8, Trail Legion 1-3 p.m. Legion ladies auxiliary host Spring Tea and Bake Sale. Admission $3.50, all welcome.
• April 22, Royal Theatre, 9:55 a.m. Met Opera presents Eugene Onegin. Composed by Tchaikovsky,the story concerns a selfish hero who lives to regret his blasé rejection of a young woman’s love and his careless incitement of a fatal duel with his best friend.
• May 20, Royal Theatre, 9 a.m. Met Opera presents Der Rosenkavalier. (The Knight of the Rose or The Rose-Bearer) Comic opera in three acts by Richard Strauss features four main characters: the aristocratic Marschallin, her very young lover Count Octavian Rofrano, her coarse cousin Baron Ochs and Ochs’ prospective fiancée Sophie von Faninal, daughter of a rich bourgeois.
