Police say a boater is missing from Slocan Lake.
Slocan Valley RCMP were informed on Wednesday morning that a man in a 14-foot aluminum boat had launched on to the lake with his dog, but did not appear as scheduled. He has not returned to his Pebble Beach / Evans Creek residence and a dog has been heard barking.
"Search and Rescue were activated and with the assistance of the New Denver Fire Department a search of the lake and area was commenced," the RCMP wrote in a press release.
"This morning the boat and dog were located along the west shore of the lake."
The missing man is 60-years-old and approximately 5'7 and said to have thin grey hair and a beard.
