Trail RCMP are still waiting to speak with the driver of a vehicle that rolled over on Warfield Hill on Thursday, March 22.

The incident took place on Bingay Road (not Warfield Hill Road as previously reported, apologies) shortly after 7 p.m. and the driver fled the scene.

Sgt. Darren Oelke of the Trail RCMP said they know who the driver is, but have not located them yet.

“We’ve confirmed that the driver is OK and that they were uninjured,” he said.

Kootenay Boundary Fire Rescue, B.C. Ambulance and Trail RCMP attended the scene of the accident and firefighters extracted the passenger from the vehicle. The individual was then loaded into an ambulance and transported to the hospital.

Sgt. Oelke said it doesn’t appear that the passenger sustained any serious injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
