Alan Maurice Baker
On Sunday, October 29, Alan Baker, 70, of Trail, BC passed away peacefully at home.
Alan moved to Trail in 1978 to work at Cominco as a systems engineer. By 1984 Alan's entrepreneurial spirit and love of the personal computer field drew him away from Cominco to start Selkirk Computers.
For 28 years Alan continued to be a key member of the Trail business community, providing a much needed local and personal touch as he introduced his customers to the ever growing world of digital technology. When Alan wasn't solving people's computer problems he was often on the hiking trails to find a meditation spot at the peak of one of his beloved Kootenay range mountains, or in the winter, skiing down the trails of Red Mountain.
Alan is survived by his brother Neil and predeceased by his wife Jennifer.
