Aldo Sante Fabbro of Trail, passed away peacefully February 9, 2017 in Trail, BC, Canada. He was born on December 16, 1926 in Orcenico Superiore, Italy.

After a short mandatory term with the Italian military, Aldo left war torn Italy with his brothers to work the coal mines of Holland. He immigrated to Canada a few years later heading for Trail to work at the Waneta Dam project and later gaining employment with CM&S (Cominco), which included a short time as a brick layer in Toronto, during the layoffs of the late 1950’s. Aldo retired from Cominco after 33 years in the foundry.

Aldo married his lovely wife, Angela, in 1955. Together they had daughters Sonya and Loren. Aldo was an avid gardener, had a passion for birds and was a sports fanatic, especially hockey. With his wife and children, Aldo enjoyed outings with their gang of friends and dancing at every opportunity especially at the Colombo Hall banquets.

Aldo was predeceased by his parents Katarina, Antonio, brothers Alceo and Cesco and sister Elsa, survived by his brother Silvano (Graciella). Aldo is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Angela; daughter Sonya (August), grandchildren Katie, Casey (Brendin), Francesca and Anthony; daughter Loren (Hans), grandchildren Lisa (Errol), Skylar (Rachel), Landon, Austin and Dawson; great grandchildren Ella and Emmet as well as extended family who will all miss him greatly.

Many thanks to Dr. Hii and the staff at Columbia Family Medicine, Medical Staff at KBRH, Home Support, and especially the Palliative Staff at Columbia View Lodge who were so kind in their care of Aldo. We would also like to thank Father Bart for his many visits. Thank you to everyone for the phone calls, cards, flowers, visits and hugs it is very much appreciated.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no service by request. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
