It is with great sadness that the family of Dolly Rella announces her passing on Monday, May 29, 2017.

Dolly was born in Trail, BC on December 23, 1930. After high school, she attended the Trail Business College and over the years, she enjoyed working at the Sun Valley Ice Cream Shop, Cominco, and the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.

Dolly loved her childhood on Austad Lane and her lifelong friends, with whom she shared countless days of laughter and fun. On Austad Lane, Dolly also met the great love of her life, Albert. Their 65 happy years of marriage was an inspiration to their family and many friends.

Dolly and Albert took considerable pride in their home activities including cooking, gardening, and especially socializing with family and friends. They also enjoyed many years of travelling to various places in Canada, the US and Europe. Their main pleasure was vacationing with their large family at Christina Lake, for the past 60 years.

Dolly, who was a natural athlete, loved golfing, bowling with the Pizza Ladies and her regular fitness program, which lasted for over six decades. One of her golfing achievements was placing second in a putting tournament in Palm Springs, California, which involved about 2,500 golfers. Last summer, she also sunk the tournament winning putt at the Buna Golf Classic, a family tournament that has been running for over 25 years.

Dolly will always be remembered as a kind and engaging woman, who took a genuine interest in her many friends and family members. Her trademark was the double kiss on the cheeks and her enthusiastic farewell wave from the kitchen window.

She was predeceased by her parents Attilio and Santa Buna and her brother, Pacifico Buna. She is survived by her husband, Albert; her children, Allan (Cathy) Rella, Carol (David) Fulowski, and Susan (Chris) McIver; her grandchildren David (Alisha), Allison (Chris), Craig, Caitlin, Nick and Natalie; her great-grandchildren Layla, Liam and Asher; and her loving sister Anna Bisaro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Trail, BC with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the British Columbia Cancer Society at http://bccancerfoundation.com/ways-donate/gift-memory.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Castleview Care Center for their support and compassion during the final days.
