June 1, 1933 - August 4, 2018
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Alyce Pompu (nee Dujay) of Christina Lake, (formerly of Trail) after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on August 4, 2018 at the age of 85.

Many thanks to Dr Coleshill, and the home care nurses and care workers, especially Rosalie, Sandra, Kathleen and Brandy, whose help allowed us to keep her at home for as long as possible. Also thanks to the nurses, doctors and care workers at the hospital who went above and beyond for her last few days in hospital. They all made a very difficult time much easier on her and us.

Alyce was born June 1, 1933 in Tilston, Manitoba and married Andy Pompu in 1954. She is survived by her beloved husband Andy, their two children, Caryl (Ron) Sandnes of Trail, B.C. and Rory (Sharon) Pompu of Calgary AB, her grandchildren Michelle Orlando, Cindy (Ryan) Brown, Sean (Hayley) Sandnes, Ryan (Michelle) Sandnes, Jamie (Angel) Pompu, and Bryant (Elizabeth) Pompu, nine (soon to be ten) great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her mother Julia Marr, her father Norman Dujay, her sister Delores and her brother-in-law Ed Miller.

She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends in Trail, Grand Forks, and Christina Lake where she was very active in the quilting community.

An open house celebrating her life will be held at her home in Christina Lake for family and friends starting at 1 pm August 18, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name would be appreciated to the Red Cross, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
