Amy Stanley passed away peacefully, with family by her side on May 10, 2017 at the Poplar Ridge Pavilion. She was born on October 15, 1922 in Blaenavon, Wales and immigrated to Canada in 1962 with her family. Amy was an avid reader, and enjoyed working in her garden and cooking.

She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years Haydn Stanley, first husband George Dearden, son Anthony, granddaughter Erin Stanley, brothers Gerald and Albert, and sister Phyllis.

Amy is survived by her children Robert (Fausta) and Howard (Linda) Stanley, grandchildren Alissa, Trisha (Erik), Tavis (Amanda), Noel and Megan, special sister-in-law Betty Gait, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family in Wales.

Cremation has taken place. At Amy’s request there will be no service. Alexandra Butts of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Amy’s honour may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca, or Lung Cancer Canada, www.lungcancercanada.ca.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Edge and Dr. McCoid, as well as the staff at Talarico Place and Poplar Ridge Pavillion for their compassionate care of Amy.
