Was born on January 15, 1934 in Grand Forks, BC and passed away on December 12, 2016 in Trail, BC.

She is predeceased by her parents Bill and Laura Chernenkoff, husband Pat, daughters Deirdre and Patricia and son Aran.

Annie is survived by her husband, Ed Huitema, brother Ed Chernenkoff, daughter Eileen Healy, grandchildren Bill and Jason Martin, Kim Martin, Graham and Alexander George, great grandchildren Austin and Zoe Martin, step daughter Ann (Jim) Drake and their children; Dallas (Amy) and Kim (Gary) and their grandchildren; Jakson, Delaney, Darby, Dysen, Karsten and Ethan.

Annie moved to the Kootenays in the early 1970’s after living in the lower mainland. She eventually settled in Rossland, working at the Uplander Hotel and also the Dixie Lee. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #14, both in Rossland.

Annie was an excellent cook. She loved to go camping and sit by the fire. She will be remembered also for her love of collecting unusual objects- rocks, sticks, rusty whatever’s- she would have to have it!

Annie was a loving person with a big heart and a great sense of humour.

At her request, there will not be a funeral. Cremation services were entrusted to Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence by visiting the family’s register at www.myalternatives.ca
