It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving father, nonno, brother, uncle and friend on October 13, 2014.

Always loved and remembered by his children, Bernice (Rick), Lee (Deb), Brenda (Scott) and his grandchildren, Jordin, Morgan, Diane & David. Mando is also survived by his sister Eleanor, sister-in law Gina, brother-in-law Etchie and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, brother Tony and sister Dora.

Mando was born May 2, 1929 in Trail, BC and spent his entire life in Trail. He grew up with his 2 sisters on Byers Lane. At the tender age of 14, Mando lost his father and so began his 41 years of service at Cominco. Mando met and married the love of his life Mary, settling down in their new home in Glenmerry to raise their family.

Mando was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Columbo Lodge. After retiring you could always finding him hanging out with the gang at the aquatic centre or in his favorite seats at the Smoke Eater hockey games.

Mando was a very devoted, honest and hard-working man who always put his family and friends first. He loved tending his garden, woodworking in his shop, summers at Christina Lake and working beside his beloved Mary in the kitchen.

The last few months at Rosewood Village were extra special as Mando and his sister Eleanor were residents and got to see each other every day. He enjoyed bingo, coffee and all the special events with friends and staff at Rosewood.

Our family would like to thank the incredible staff at Rosewood Village who have assisted Dad with such love and support through the last few years of his journey.

A Catholic Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Parish with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Mando’s name may be made to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC, V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca
