Beatrice Szilagyi was born in Gerald, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully on April 13, 2017 in Trail, BC.
Bea married Alec in 1945 and they lived in Kennedy, Saskatchewan before moving to Trail. After raising her family, she worked for home support for many years. Bea and Alec loved spending time at Kootenay Lake.
Bea is survived by her son Don (Julie), siblings; Lydia, Lawrence (Betty), Bernie (Wanda), Francis (Maynard) and sisters-in-law Pat and Valdina. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Steven, Derek (Jillian), Michelle, Christine, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bea was predeceased by her husband Alec, son Terry, brothers; Donnie, Leonard, and George as well as her sisters Lucy and Helen. Bea was also predeceased by her great-granddaughter Andraya.
Bea was a member of the CWL and volunteered for many years with the Trail Stroke Club. She enjoyed her trips on the bus to the Casinos as well as many trips to different countries. Bea took pride in her hobbies which included knitting, baking and gardening.
For the last six years, Bea resided at Silver City Gardens and the family would like to thank the staff for their kindness and support. The family would also like to thank all of the Home Support personnel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant. Burial will take place following the Mass at Mountain View Cemetery in Rossland. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
