Betty June Nightingale

Betty June Nightingale born June 6th, 1932 in St. Thomas, Ontario, passed away November 12th, 2017 in Trail, BC.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Howard (Hiker) Davis and Rachel Davis (nee Dickie), brother James Howard (Jim) Davis and sister Jeanne Parker.

Survived by her two daughters and their families, Janice Lynn Nightingale and Michael, and Marna Rae Nightingale and Ian, Lorayne and Cat.

Betty trained and acquired her nursing degree from University of Western Ontario, class of 1954. She went on to teach nursing in Toronto and Tillsonburg before marrying and starting a family. In her later years, she supported her parents so that they could live out their lives in their own home.

After Betty retired, she loved to travel, driving across the country and going to Europe, the Caribbean and Mexico several times over the years, as well as visiting her daughters on a regular basis.

Many thanks to all the amazing people who added so much to her life in her final years, especially Drs Mike Scully and Leslie Paul, the Interior Health and home care staff, and all the staff at Rosewood Village who loved Betty so much, and laughed with and supported her when her family couldn’t be there.

No service will be held but interment will take place in Elmdale Cemetery, St.Thomas, ON.
