July 20, 1957 - October 16, 2018
Cheryl (Vermeire) Degan, of Genelle, passed away on October 16, 2018 with her family by her side at the age of 61. She was born in Rossland, BC on July 20, 1957.

Cheryl attended Rossland Senior Secondary High school until 1975. In 1978 Cheryl started work for the City of Trail where she would meet her future husband. She started work as an instructor for Selkirk College in 1989 where her love for computers started. When Cheryl wasn't behind a computer screen, you could find her doing a jig saw puzzle, crossword puzzle, cross stitching or crocheting a blanket for one of her grandchildren. She could always be found watching her NASCAR races every Sunday.

Cheryl married the love of her life Dario on April 6, 1979. They shared 35 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on March 18, 2015.

Cheryl is survived by her son, Mike (Jade) Degan and daughter Kayla Degan, her sister AJ (Eleannah) Vermeire, her pride and joy of 8 grandchildren; Emma, Nate, Sawyer, Ryder, and Briar Degan, Eric Buckley, Brooke and Hannah Roussy, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Cheryl was predeceased by her beloved husband Dario, her father Richard Vermeire, and mother Lil Vermeire.

Cheryl will always be remembered for her witty comments, sharp tongue, and her amazing sense of humor. Nona, we know you are with Nono now. Until we meet again. You will be loved and missed by so many.

A special thank you to the nurses and staff in the ICU at the KBRH for their care of our mother.

At Cheryl's request, a service will not be held but a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
