Dale Elias Desabrais passed away peacefully in his home, on October 7, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 10, 1944 in Kamsack, Saskatchewan.

For 20 years Dale proudly owned and operated Kootenay Pawn and Tool Sales before his retirement last year. You can also find Dale’s name in the Canadian Arm Wrestling Hall of Fame, as he was a world champion arm wrestler. In his younger years he was quite fond of car racing, that love for car racing turned into a love for Nascar in his later years. Dale also enjoyed travelling; Peurto Vallarta held an especially important place in his heart. However, family was the most important thing to Dale; his love will never be forgotten.

Dale is survived by his wife of 32 years, Heather Desabrais, children; Debbie (Grant) Wyman and Wayne (Fernanda) Desabrais, grandchildren; Kristeen, Wade, Jessica, Jennifer and Nicole, great-grandchildren; Kolby and Kaylee, brothers; Eugene and Wayne, sisters; Edna and Janice, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by parents Elias and Francis Desabrais and sister Drucilla Desabrais.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 am, at the Genelle Community Hall, 1205 2nd St Genelle, with Officiant Art Mercer. Everyone is welcome to attend.
