Daniel Russell Grieve was born on September 18, 1936 and passed away peacefully on November 9, 2014. He was born in Trail where he worked at Cominco for 33 years.

Dan was a very active member of the Beaver Valley community. He made many friends on the ball field, at the curling rink and on the golf course, where he also spent countless hours volunteering. He had a great passion for youth sports and spent many years coaching, umpiring and refereeing many youth sports events.

Dan eventually moved on from these activities and soon began experimenting with new recipes that he loved to share. He also enjoyed a morning coffee with friends at Subway.

Dan lost the love of his life, Lois, in September of 2013. He is survived by his children Wayne (Anne), Glen (Ali), Wendy (John); grandchildren Robyn (Dustin), Karlin (Colleen), Cassandra (Ryan), Shannon (Richard), Jenny, Sarah, Jayde, and great granddaughters, Madilyn, Maggie, and great grandson, Lucien.

Surviving siblings are brother; Norm Grieve, and sisters; Barb (Gylie) Wilcox, Ida VanEgmond, and Eleanor Jmayoff.

Dan was blessed with a very large and loving family and a big circle of friends. He enjoyed his life immensely, lived his life well and with honour. He will be sadly missed.

A celebration will be held at the Fruitvale Memorial Hall on Friday, November 14 at 2 pm. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
