Welsh, Deanna (née Colligan)
We are sad to announce the passing of our dear wife and mom on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the age of 76.
Deanna is survived by her husband Griff; her children Tracey (Al), Miles (Debbie), Mason (Cori), and Dana (Jordan); her seven grandchildren, Megan, Ben, Emma, Sam, Sloan, Hudson, and Harrison; her sisters Maureen and Linda; and her four nephews.
Deanna was predeceased by her son Tyler, her parents John and Edna, and her sister Sharon.
From her birth in Trail on September 3, 1940, Deanna shared her sense of humour, wit, soft heart, and artistic gifts with all those around her. She raised her family in Burlington, Ontario, where she and Griff were the proud owners of Mt. Royal Hardware.
Deanna and Griff retired to Montrose in 1998, where she became an integral member of the fiber arts community. She was an active member of both the Selkirk Weavers’ and Spinners’ Guild and the Cross Border Weavers, and shared her love of spinning, weaving, knitting, and sewing with those far and wide, always including her family.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Fruitvale Memorial Hall from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
