Feb 23, 1925 - Mar 22, 2018
Dina Friess - was a beloved Mom, Noni & Bisnoni, who we were very blessed to have in our lives for 93 years. Our hearts are heavy with sadness but our lives will be forever enriched with the love she shared with all of us. Rest in peace, you deserve it.

Dina was born in Fife, BC on February 23, 1925 to Fernando & Assunta Decembrini and passed away on March 22, 2018 at Rosewood Village. Dina grew up in Christina Lake with her three brothers and four sisters in the family home her father built. She moved to Trail and worked at CM&S during the war. She  met her husband John in Trail and they married on April 24, 1948. They welcomed son, Danny followed by daughters Donna and Barbara Ann. They purchased a house in Sunningdale in 1960 where they lived for 50 years. Dina's love in life was her family, spending time with and taking care of them was her greatest joy. Another love for Dina was the summers spent at their place in Christina Lake where many cherished memories were made.

Dina moved to Mountain Side Village in June 2010 where she lived for four and a half years, enjoying card games, walks & coffee time in the morning and afternoon. We could never catch her in her room, she would be on an outing or spending the day visiting & enjoying her new friends.

Many thanks to John and Sue Turco, the home support and the wonderful staff there. She moved to Rosewood Village in February 2014 on her 89th birthday. She enjoyed the many activities and outings at Rosewood, especially Bingo and music, she loved to dance with her walker. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Rosewood Village for their exceptional care of Mom, especially during her final journey.

Dina was predeceased by her husband John, her parents and all of her siblings. She is survived by her son Danny (Lynda) Friess, daughters Donna Costanzo, Barb (Leo) Leavitt; grandchildren: Jamie Friess, Cory (Heather) Friess, Shawna (Shane) Kubik, Melanie (Serge) Mercier, Jennifer (Adam) Kucher, Tyler (Kristal Tees) Leavitt, Josh and Evan Leavitt; great grandchildren: Cheyanne Friess, Colton and Wyatt Friess, Zakary and Lukas Kubik, Gage Mercier, Madison and Olivia Kucher, Ruby, Emmett and Lennox Leavitt.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 3:00 pm at Holy Trinity Parish officiated by Father Francis dela Cruz. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
