Donald Charles Beck

Don passed away May 31, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by Janice, his loving wife of 44 years, his son Shawn (Fern), his daughter Shannon, grandsons; Christopher, Darryn and Chance, his brothers; Al (Cindy) and John (Karen), his brother-in-law Tony Shaw (Cindy) and sisters-in-law Ginnie Brown (Bob) and Marlis Straus (Reagan) as well as many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sister Joanne, nephew David and his granddaughter Morgan.

Don was born in Penticton, BC and moved to the Salmo area with his family in 1985. Prior to his retirement in 2012, he worked at Teck in Trail. He liked to fish and fix things. Don, his family and his cohort Sean Peddigrew ran the Salmo Demolition Derby for 12 years and finally won a first place trophy in his class in addition to many trophies for best dressed car.

Don will be missed by many friends and family members. Don’s family will host a Celebration of Life at their home from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. on Saturday, July 2, 2016. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
