May 24, 1926 - June 25, 2018
Doreen Szarmes of Calgary and formerly of Kelowna, Sorrento and Trail, BC, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the age of 92 years.
Doreen was born May 24, 1926 in St. Lambert, Quebec and was the youngest of four sisters. Doreen married Kornel Szarmes in 1958. Doreen was a Registered Nurse, started her career in Vancouver and raised her family in Trail. Doreen and Kornel retired in Sorrento/ Shuswap Lake, her favorite family vacation spot.
Doreen is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Victor and Lori of Orangeville, ON, Eric and Charlotte of Honolulu, HI, and Michael and Donna of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Meghan, Alyssa, Colin, Christine and Duncan; two sisters Peg Hunt of Bellingham, WA and Anne Bridger of Kelowna, BC; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 - 16th Avenue N.W. (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
