On April 16, 2016, two months after his 80th birthday, Douglas Brian Byres died at the Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, BC after a brief illness. Doug is survived by his wife of 59 years Eva, daughters Nicole and Brianna, son Ron, and grandchildren; Nicholas, Alex, Max, Hannah, and Sophia. Doug spent most of his working life teaching math and science in Trail, Prince George, Dawson Creek, Kamloops, and Macau. He had many interests over the years including skiing, fishing, golfing, hunting, swimming, and flying small aircraft. Doug’s many friends and family will miss his laughter and jokes. Doug was a happy man, who adored his family. He said his wife, children, and grandchildren were the best things that ever happened to him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
