It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our wife and mother Edda Bertoia at age 84 on April 26th in her home in Victoria surrounded by family and pets following a brief illness.
She is survived by her husband Elicio of 64 years, her sister Linda, son Gary (Bonnie), daughter Irene (Bill) and grandchildren Andrea, Aaron, Tyler (Taylor) and Jesse.
Her honesty, determination, and dry humour will be missed. She was in true form right until the end.
As she forbade us to mention in her obituary that she was a talented artist who could create gourmet meals, lace tablecloths, wedding gowns, weird little crocheted animals, wild flower beds and baking... we would await the boxes of baking that came our way via Canada Post; we shall simply say she had many interests and talents. And she shared her talents generously.
We are sure family and friends have at least one memory of a gathering at 430 Wellington Street and the meal and celebration that ensued.
