Elin Alfhild (Broman) Fox

December 9, 1928 - September 18, 2017

"Alfie" was born in Fort William ON, December 9, 1928 and passed away peacefully with family by her side, September 18, 2017 in Kelowna BC.

Predeceased by her parents Joel and Ida Broman, husband George (Bill) William Fox, brothers Bert and Paul Broman.

Alfie was a loving mother to Paul (Anne) Fox, Roger (Shirley) Fox, and Wendy (Dave) Rayner. Nana to Meagan Fox, Kent (Michelle) Fox, Kristi (Ryan) Avery, Matt (Katie) Fox, Kathryn (Lance) Lewin, Dianna (Kyle) Lewin. Great-Nana to Aidan & Rylee Lewin & Titan & Noell Lewin.

Survived by sisters Estrid Martin, Anita Aspinall and June Tremblay and brother Kurt Broman and sister-in-law Kay Hawkins.

Loved and remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.

Alfie was secretary for Cominco Engineering Services at her retirement and was well respected and admired by her co-workers. After their retirement, she and Bill moved to West Bank and enjoyed many years in the Okanagan reconnecting with friends and sharing their home with family for vacations and holidays.

After Bill's passing in 2002, Alfie returned to Trail where she was close to family and enjoyed time with her siblings, children, grandkids and the joy of her last few years - her great grand-children.

They livened up Rosewood Village with their visits to "Nana" and the oldest "great" challenged her with games of crib.

Alfie enjoyed knitting and spent many hours knitting for her children and grandchildren.

She became famous amongst her family and their friends for her "Nana Fox Socks"! They are greatly coveted by anyone who is lucky enough to own a pair.

She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

Sincere thank you to the staff at Rosewood Village and Dr. Cochran and staff at Riverside Medical Clinic for mom's care.

A private family graveside service to take place prior to a Celebration of her Life, Saturday, September 30 at 2:00 pm at the Trail United Church Hall, 1300 Pine Avenue, Trail, BC.
