It is with deep sadness that Esther’s family announces her passing on November 16, 2010. She was born in Aprigliano, Province of Cosenza, Calabria, Italy on May 1, 1919.
Esther was predeceased in 1997 by her husband Luigi and daughter Linda Patterson. She will be remembered by her sons Ron (Connie) and Jack (Carole), brother John (June) Misuraca, and son-in-law John Patterson, as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Esther came to Canada with her family at the age of two and spent her early years in Blairmore, AB and Nelson, BC. In 1942 she met and married her husband Luigi and they raised their three children in Trail. Esther was a devoted wife, mother and Nonna and was renowned for her cooking and baking skills. Another source of enjoyment was tending to her rose and flower gardens.
Esther will truly be missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
Father Fred Doll will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Bill Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” is entrusted with arrangements.
