It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, nonna and bisnonna with her family by her side at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on November 16, 2016.
Francesca was born in Grimaldi, Italy and moved to Trail with her two year old son to join her dear husband, Tony. Together, they built a happy, busy life in the Gulch with their six loving children.
Mom was so very proud of her children Pasquale (Aina), Rose (Al) Karges, Gino (Sherry), Mario (Mary), Dennis (Terri) and Mike (Carolyn). She was constantly delighted by her grandchildren Dean, Peter (Raquel), Angela (Derek) Curlew, Jeff, Jill, Jake, Michael, Dominic, Jordan and Maya and great-grandchildren Santino, Lexis, Savannah and Nevaeh.
Francesca is also survived by her sister Vitulia and many nieces and nephews in Italy and was predeceased by her other siblings Rosa, Giuseppe, Esterina and Giustina in Italy and her cherished son Gino.
She loved to cook using Tony’s fresh garden ingredients and bake delicious treats for her family. We will forever treasure memories of her amazing family meals, countless stories (especially of life on the family farm in Grimaldi) and unending love for us all.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the amazing doctors and nursing staff at KBRH who cared so tenderly for mom during her short stay there.
A private family service and Mass of Christian Burial has been officiated by Father Bart van Roijen.
