It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear husband and father, Fred Pozdnekoff. Fred passed away at the KBRH on April 16, 2017 with family at his side.

Fred was born in Brilliant, BC to parents Peter and Mary Pozdnekoff on May 10, 1936. Fred married Mary Trubetskoff and together built their home in Kinnaird 52 years ago where they still lived. They raised two children, Donna and Fred Jr.

Fred worked on construction jobs in his younger years and then at the local sawmill for 36 years until retirement.

Fred was athletic, played commercial hockey, fastball and was an avid golfer for many years.

Fred leaves behind his wife Mary, of 57 years, daughter Donna Hinderks of Edmonton, son Fred Jr. (Rhonda) of Red Deer, AB.

Fred was predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary Pozdnekoff, brothers Walter, George, Alex, Billy and a sister Marie Rezansoff.

The Pozdnekoff family would like to thank Dr. J. Lesperance and staff for their compassion and support, our relatives, neighbors and friends, with a special thank you to my sister-in-law Kay and niece Debbie, Home Support and Home Care nurses that came to the house – you were all a great help, Amber from the Mobile Blood Lab, Ambulance and Fire

Department staff, Dr. Scotland and the Oncology department staff, Dr. Purssell and the nursing staff on 2nd and 3rd floors at KBRH, Jim (counselor) at KBRH, and thank you all for the for care you gave Fred and the support to the family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Harry and Paulette Markin for conducting the service held at the Kinnaird Cemetery.

May Fred rest in peace.
