Giovanni Pietro Cesaretti of Trail passed away on November 20, 2013 at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. He was born on November 26, 1924 in Camigliano, Italy.

Pietro immigrated to Canada in 1950 and married Leda on May 26, 1958. Pietro worked at Cominco for many years and was also a member of the Colombo Lodge. He loved great food with good friends and wine. His passion was his vegetable and flower gardens and his grandchildren. Pietro lived for the Smoke Eater games and his Canucks and was often seen walking the bridges in Trail.

Pietro was predeceased by his loving wife Leda. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Roberto (Roberta) and Carlo (Janet); his daughter Aladina (Peter) Sheets; his grandchildren Larisa, Zachary, Olivia, Sophia, Carson, Parker, Jordan and Andrew. He leaves behind his brother Giuseppe (Lolita) Cesaretti, his niece Samanta (Giuseppe) and his nephew Luigi (Louisa) of Italy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony’s Parish on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10:30 am with Father Jim McHugh, Celebrant. Cremation to follow. Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Pietro’s name may be St. Michaels Catholic School at 1329 Fourth Ave, Trail, BC, V1R 1S3.
