It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Igino Macasso. He was born November 2, 1922 in San Odorico di Flaibano, Italy and passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2016 in Trail, BC.

Igino enjoyed spending time with his family, painting, writing and gardening. He came to Canada in 1952 after surviving the war. He started his family in Riondel where he worked as a miner. After a short return to Italy, he and his family settled in Trail, where he worked for Cominco until retirement.

He will be sadly missed by his children; John (Isabelle), Paul, Angelo (Christine), Adriana (Greg), his grandchildren Jessica, Amanda, Jason, Adam, Jacqueline, Erica, Marissa, Max, Maria, Christian, Jarred, Julia, Michael, Geno, Laura, Owen, Madison and relatives in Canada, U.S.A., Italy and Belgium.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Maria, his parents, brother and three sisters.

A Prayer Service will be held Friday, February 12th at 7:00 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13th at 1:00 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant. Entombment will follow the Mass at the Trail Mausoleum. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
