Ira John Leroy MacAulay, was born on November 22, 1927 in Waughs River, Nova Scotia, and passed peacefully in Trail, BC on May 25, 2017.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Elaine, and his two siblings Al and Viola. He is survived by his children; Ron and Sharlene, daughter-in-law Karen and his biggest joy, grandchildren; Chris, Aaron, Jenna, and Alexander.
Ira was a social person who could be found with Elaine every weekend dancing at the Eagles. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and exploring. He especially enjoyed the cabin at Christina Lake that he built and cherished with his soul mate Elaine for over 37 years. He loved to ski with his friends up until he was 87 when he chose to give it up. Not from lack of desire, but because his knees would not cooperate.
