Irene Cameron of Trail, BC passed away on November 15, 2016 at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. She was born on February 23, 1954 in Cambuslang, Scotland.
Irene moved to Trail with her family in 1956. She was the recipient of the Star of Courage, presented to her by Queen Elizabeth II, for saving two children from a house fire in 1970. Irene was a loving, nurturing woman, caring for many children throughout her life.
Irene is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Gerald, daughter Tina Paterson, son Michael Haverko, 5 grandchildren, brother Bob (Chris) Paterson, sisters Isabel and May, sister-in-law Glenda, and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents James and Margaret, and brothers James and Joseph.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Knox Hall in the Trail United Church on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
