The family is sad to announce the sudden passing of Jim Berukoff from Montrose, BC on May 4 at the age of 66 years surrounded by his family.

He will be remembered as a beloved son, a dedicated father, an amazing brother, a wonderful uncle, a best friend and a successful businessman.

His parents, Helen and Pete Berukoff, predeceased him in 2001 and 2008. He is survived by his children Corey, April and Jimmy; his sister, Mary, and brothers Peter, Dan and Matt as well as many nieces, nephews, several grand-nieces and a grand-nephew.

He earned a Two Year Computer Electronics degree from Selkirk College which started his lifelong career in the computer technology field. He opened his store, Valu Office Supplies, in Trail in 2003 which served technical internet needs throughout the West Kootenays for 14 years.

He participated in his community as a Nite Hawks sponsor, a long time Montrose firefighter and other events. He enjoyed golfing, curling, prospecting, and fishing, especially on the ocean for salmon and halibut. He was an avid gardener and appreciated the many compliments on his various roses, as well as being particularly proud of his crop of Heirloom Tomatoes.

He will be remembered for his outstanding work ethic, business computer skills, commitment to excellence, community spirit, honesty, generosity, quiet strength and manners with an open hand always willing to help.

He will be missed by his family and friends but his legacy of love and support will endure forever. Rest in eternal peace and gratitude.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Carberry’s Chapel, 1298 Pine Avenue, Trail. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services ™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
