It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our brother on June 30, 2016 following a brief battle with cancer. John died in Seattle, WA and is survived by his wife of 42 years Karen, sons Craig, Shane and Cael, daughters Harmony and Amberley, three granddaughters Kira, Celestial and Emma, two grandsons Carver and DeJon, sisters, Jean Lisle, Judy Carruthers, Joan Berry, Joyce Austin and Jill Austin, brothers-in-law, Tom Lisle, Bruce Berry and T Finlin, brother and sister-in-law, Gord Mjelde and Terry Mjelde, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. He is predeceased by his father Lloyd Austin and mother Ina Austin, his in-laws Gene and Marsha Mjelde and brother-in-law Bruce Mjelde. John worked in the music industry for years as stage manager for Thin Red Line, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Bryan Adams. John lived and worked in Seattle for 40 years raising his family and operating several businesses with Karen. He was a self-taught handyman, excelling in carpentry, mechanics and electronics. John and Karen enjoyed traveling in their fifth-wheel throughout the US and Canada. John was a dedicated family man and helped so many others with their life’s journey. We will remember his loving kindness and wonderful sense of humour - especially the many ‘puns’ he loved to spout off at any given opportunity! He will be forever missed by all who had the great privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Johnny’s life

will be held in Seattle at a later date.
