BURKE, Kerry James - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kerry James Burke. Kerry passed away suddenly at the age of 58 at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital surrounded by family.

He was born January 29, 1956 in Trail BC and worked as an electrician at Teck for over 30 years. After marrying Lora Lenardon in 1981, the two raised their daughters Andrea and Kaila in their house in Warfield.

Kerry enjoyed spending summers at his cabin in Balfour on Kootenay Lake. An avid fisherman, he'd often be seen on the Columbia River with his dog Percy and went on many fishing trips around the Kootenays with his good friends. He played hockey, golfed and was introduced to hunting by his father-in-law Sergio. Following the loss of his wife Lora in 2008, he retired and moved to Montrose. He was known for his sense of humour, silly impressions and love for his dogs Percy and Summer.

Kerry is survived by his daughters Andrea (Oliver) and Kaila, fiancé Silvia, mother Edna, brothers Pat (Katy), Dave (Elaine) and Lee (Lori) and many cousins nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Bill, sister Sandra, wife Lora and father-in-law Sergio.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 25 at 1:00 pm at the Trail United Church with Reverend Michael Hare officiating. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Kerry's name at 4 - 1551 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 9M9 or online at www.heartandstroke.bc.ca
