Lori passed away on June 1, 2017 after a long decline via Alzheimer at Castleview Care Centre. She was born on February 29, 1932 in Segromigno in Piano, Lucca, Italy to Paride and Filomena Unti. She grew up with an extended family, which included her parents, two brothers, a sister, an aunt and 5 cousins in a rural setting. She was sponsored by an uncle and moved to Canada in 1952 landing in Trail, BC. She married Adorando Del Bucchia in 1953 and raised two children in Trail, BC.
She learned to sew at very young age and this became her lifelong passion. Lori created and altered many dresses for her friends and clients. But she truly enjoyed making her grandchildren fashionable as well as creating their favourite dishes both at the drop of a hat. We will miss the famous homemade tordelli feasts, veal cutlets, tortas and lemon cookies. In the retirement years she loved to spend extended vacations visiting with family in Italy.
She will be always remembered by her husband of 63 years Adorando, son Henry (Teri) Fruitvale, daughter Miriam (Angelo) Italy; grandchildren Dina (Jason) Vancouver, Andrew (Helen) Calgary, Diana, Italy, David (Alessia), Italy; great-grandchildren Mattia and Sofia (Italy), Sophia and Cosette (Calgary); brothers Oreste (Mona) Unti Trail, BC, Luigi (Maria) Unti Vancouver, BC and a sister Paridina Unti, Italy; as well a niece, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10:30 am with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
