It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorna May Jackman on February 5, 2015

at the age of 88 years. She was born on June 27,1926 in Lashburn, Saskatchewan.

Lorna is survived by five children, Rick (Cheryl), Dale (Kim), Yvonne, Neil (Joey), Ruby (Dave) Blake, and daughter-in-law, Denise; fifteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ted, her eldest son Robert (Lorne) and her youngest son, Ted (Teddy); as well as her sister, Ruby.

Lorna served as a Royal Canadian Legion Member for 50 years. She met her late husband,Ted, of 60 years in Rossland while working as a telephone operator, and they settled in the Kootenays, moving between Nelson, Crescent Valley, Salmo, Fruitvale, Riondell and Creston. Lorna was employed by Canada Post for 17 years.

She enjoyed bingo, bowling, going to the casino in Bonners Ferry, and a good game of 31 with her kids. As the mother of seven children, her kids and grandchildren were a huge part of her life.

Reverend Michael Hare will celebrate a Memorial Service at the St. Johns Anglican United Church in Fruitvale on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
