It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Margaret Flanagan. She passed away peacefully at Rosewood Village on November 26, 2013 with her family surrounding her.
She was born at home in Payton, Saskatchewan on April 21, 1933. She came to Rossland in 1949 and raised her family here. She worked for 27 years on the Pediatrics floor of Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. She loved to travel, play bingo and cook.
Margaret is survived by her brother Jack (Ellen), her children; Brenda (Gene) Fontaine, Blair (Catherine), Kary (Charlie) Flanagan, Janette (Chris) Garrison, her grandchildren; Sean (Christine), Keli (Lindsey), Amanda, Jamie (Carly), Katlin (Amber), Brianna (Alp) and Chris Jr., her great-grandchildren; Kalem, Aeryn, Kiera, Dwayne, Liam, Linden, Connor and Quinn.
She was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Dorothy, her sister Jean, her son Kevin, and grandson Rory.
We would like to thank all the wonderful, caring “Angels” of Rosewood Village that looked after mom. The compassion they all showed us during mom’s illness was so comforting to us all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Rossland Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 14. Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
