June 19, 1936 - July 10, 2018
Maxwell Thomas Spooner drove his T-Bird to heaven on July 10, 2018.

Max was born June 19, 1936 in Trail B.C. to Winnifred Brown & Sydney Spooner.

Max apprenticed at the Trail Daily Times as a pressman then worked from Baltimore Md. to Olympia Wa. & finished his career at the Vancouver Sun & Province in 1999. He was a proud Union member.

Cars & hockey were his passion. He did a frame off restoration on his '56 T-Bird then 30 yrs. later traded it in for a '65 Bird. He joined the Totem Thunderbird Club in 1987 & served as the Treasurer & Co-Editor of the Newsletter. He loved the Club & it's comradery more.

Max was assistant coach for the Trail Smokettes. He also served a term as the President of the BCGIHA (women's hockey) & in 1981 put together one of the 1st women's teams to compete overseas in Helsinki Finland.

Max was preceded in death by his brother Syd, his sister Alice (Babes), grandson Jeno, & nephew Tony.

Max is survived by his loving wife Nancy, sons Dale (Donna), Owen (Diane), daughters Cindy & Kimberly, many grandchildren & great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews, & mother-in-law Fausta.

Our grateful thanks go to his very special Dr.'s; Dr. Fisher & Baxter, along with Dr. Cochrane & Tucker & all the caring nursing staff at the hospital.

Max has unselfishly donated his body to medical research @ UBC so that others may learn & benefit. "I never graduated but now I'm going to University".

No service by request. Donations may be made to KBRH (Trail Hospital), 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail B.C., V1R 4M1. www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca

Now cruisin' the skies with Mr. Frank, Garry, & Glen. He will be sorely missed.
