It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Muriel Smith. Mom passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on August 11, 2016. She was born March 5, 1941 in Greenwood, BC to Helen and Ernest Fritz.
Mom and dad moved to Beaver Falls and started their family. They enjoyed traveling in the motor home and seeing different parts of Canada and the US. Mom could remember just about every route that we took each year back east and where we camped, dad has been gone 21 years, but mom always stayed strong and carried on and enjoyed her family and friends. Mom enjoyed knitting, sewing, and casinos; however spending time with family and friends was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her children; Jodi (Ken) LeSergent and Todd (Leslie) Smith, granddaughter; Ashley (Graeme) Good, siblings; Glen Fritz, Don (Joanne) Fritz, Billy Macnab, Noreen (Rick) Milstead, Bobby Macnab, Gayle Macnab, and nieces and nephews; Gord (Gloria), Greg, Dawn, Tyson, Marc (Kim), Kelly (Meghan).
Waiting for her is her husband Jake Smith, parents Helen and Ernest Fritz, brother Stanley Macnab, sister-in-law Heather Fritz, and Gracie, Tasha, Logan.
There will be no service by request. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Muriel’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, c/o 15-835 Spokane St, Trail, BC, V1R 3W4.
