NIBLOW, Myrle - It is with great sadness the family of Myrle Niblow would like to announce his sudden passing on February 23, 2017 at the age of 68.

Myrle grew up in Fruitvale on the family farm, later he traveled for work throughout BC and then settled in Rossland where he spent the last 43 years.

Myrle will be remembered for his position as maintenance man at the Rossland hospital; he truly knew the “ins and outs” of the building and kept it running smoothly. He was later asked to return to the building as the maintenance worker after his retirement because no one else could keep those old boilers running quite as well as Myrle, a true handyman.

Myrle, though he was a solitary man, loved to meet his friends for a cold brew at the local watering hole, laughing, telling stories, dreaming of the big Lotto 64/9 win, dancing and of course breaking out into a good ole Johnny Cash song. In his younger years Myrle was an avid fisherman, and loved the hunt for the biggest huckleberries on the mountains surrounding Rossland.

Myrle will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He has a special place in two hearts and will be forever loved and remembered by his daughter and son-in-law Myrla & Daryl Brost.

At Myrle’s request, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held on March 10, 2017 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Rossland, BC at 3:00 pm. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Myrle’s honour may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #14, 2081 Washington St, Rossland, BC V0G 1Y0.
