Ray passed away on December 25, 2014 (his favourite holiday) after a lengthly illness. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doreen, of Fruitvale and his four children, Elaine (Bernie), Jan (Ken), Neil, Michael (Allison) and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ray was born on January 31, 1935 in South Shields, England. He started his career as a merchant marine and sailed the seas for ten years. Ray then became an iron worker and continued his career after he and his family immigrated to Canada in 1967.

Ray had an adventurous nature. He scuba dived, sky dived, skied, curled, golfed and walked lots. He and Doreen spent many summers at the lake as well as travelled every two years to England.

Ray was a mason for many years and enjoyed his time as Grand Master.

Ray’s favourite pastime was spending time with family and if he could combine sports with family time even better; for example he organized a family golf tournament every year.

Ray was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa and will be missed dearly.

No service will be held at Ray’s request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the palliative rooms at KBRH in Trail, BC.

A special thankyou to all the staff for the wonderful care Dad received.
