Richard passed away peacefully in Trail Hospital Tuesday morning.
Richard grew up in Fruitvale and lived in Meadows for many years. He moved to the Castlegar area about 16 years ago where he drove school bus for several years. Richard loved the outdoors and farming, and especially spending time with his family.
Richard is survived by Esther, his wife of 38 years. His three daughters: Cindy (Doug), Jennifer (Cal), and Pam (Murray). Grandchildren: Alexa, Samantha, Amaya, Clayton, and Noah who will dearly miss their “Grumpy”. Brothers: Stan (Lorraine), Donald (Virginia), and Allan (Agnes). As well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his late wife Clara, son Lyle, his mom and dad, sister Eileen, and brother Bernard.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Castlegar Legion at 1:00 pm Saturday October 16, 2010.
