The family of Tercelia Marie (Terry) Doig sadly announce the passing of our extraordinary mother, grandma and Nona on

Aug 24, 2016.

Born in Blairmore, Alberta as the middle of Hector and Lucia Semenzin’s five children, Terry came to Trail at the age of 17 years old. She met husband Jim on the ball field, they married and raised their two children in the Silver City. She worked at various establishments in Trail but will be best remembered for her time at Sears.

Terry loved Trail and she embraced her Italian background. She made the best spaghetti and meatballs that she affectionately prepared for her family and friends. She was a keen sports fan and took great joy in her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s various sporting activities. She had a soft spot for all babies – befitting her warm and compassionate nature. However, she was quite the card shark and unless she was playing with the grandchildren, she usually won.

The biggest joy in her life was her family. She is survived by her daughter Geraldine (Pat) Paterson and son Ron (Deb) Doig; her grandchildren Michelle (Gilles), Brad, Trina (Dustin), Cory, Megan (Kevin), Christine (Corey), Ryan and Shaun; and her ten beloved great grandchildren Trey, Shaylyn, Bradly, Justin, Kaelan, Callie, Jaxon, Chloe, Ruby and Jake. She will be missed by her sister Cathy (Al) Bacon, special brother-in-law Fred (Marion) Doig and dear friend Leena in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry was predeceased by beloved husband Jim and her three siblings: Ev, Sec and Eddie.

For the majority of her life she lived at her cute little house on Topping Street. Her last years were spent at Columbia View Lodge and the family wishes to thank all the caregivers who kindly assisted with her care. Donations in Terry’s name can be gratefully made to the charity of your choice.

A Celebration of her life is planned for Sat October 8th from 1 pm – 3 pm at the Birchbank Golf Club. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence by visiting the family’s register at www.myalternatives.ca
