Victoria Bisaro

May 6, 1917 - October 2, 2017

Victoria (Vicki) Bisaro passed away peacefully on October 2, 2017 after a long and exceptionally full life.

Her family mourns her, but rejoices in the memories she has left us and the inspiration she gave to so many people over so many years.

Vicki was born on May 6, 1917 in Posso, San Giorgio, Italy.  In 1924 her mother brought her and her brother Alex to Trail, which became her beloved home for the rest of her life.

Vicki embarked on her sewing career at an early age. She was a gifted seamstress who continued to sew for satisfied customers well into her nineties. Weddings, graduations, costumes, uniforms--she handled them all, sometimes for three generations of the same family.

Vicki married the handsome and charming Alessandro Bisaro in 1937, and together they raised four sons. They shared a hard-working life with time for fun as well, often dancing the night away at the Colombo Hall.

Central to Vicki's life was her Church. Her faith sustained her through difficult times, and her devotion never wavered. Her faith and her exceptional energy were also the basis of her involvement with many good works, including the Hospital Board, St. Michael's School, the C.W.L. where she was a member for 70 years, and her beloved lodge, the Sisters of Colombo, where she was on the executive for 68 years.

Her volunteer contributions were recognized in 2008, when she was named Trail/ Warfield's Citizen of the Year.

When Vicki reached her 100th. birthday in May this year, family and friends from far and wide gathered to honour her.

She was overjoyed to have reached her goal of celebrating 100 years with all of us.

Vicki was predeceased by her husband Alessandro, her son Gordon, her grandson Mark, her brother Alex Colonello, and her sisters Val Farnsworth and Flora Marchiori.

She is survived by her sons Terry (Connie), Wade, Leigh, and Kyle; Norman (Beverly), Michelle; daughter-in-law Margaret, Sandy and Katie; and son Raymond (Susanne), Kiara, Ivana and Joshua, as well as twelve great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2012-3rd. Ave., Trail, BC at 10:30 a.m. with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant.
