Nov 7, 2017
It is with extreme sadness that the family of Violet Olga Popoff announce her peaceful passing on November 7, 2017 at her home in Grand Forks, B.C.

Violet was born in 1939 and raised in Grand Forks, where she met her husband John Popoff and soon after moved to Fruitvale, B.C., where she secured long time employment at Trail Regional Hospital.

In Fruitvale, Violet and John raised their 3 children and built a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, friendship and of course singing. Everyone will always remember how their lovely home made them feel welcome, happy and full! Violet loved nothing more than to have her family, friends and children's friends in her home eating, drinking and enjoying themselves, and continued to do so when she left Fruitvale to return to her hometown, Grand Forks.

Violet was predeceased by her husband John and son Rick, and is survived by her daughters Nancy Leith (Jim) and Sandie Eby, grandchildren Travis, Lyndsay, Carmen Eby, Kira Popoff and Rebecca Leith, sister Nancy Wishlow (Harold), brother Alfred Podovinikoff (Elaine) and several nieces and nephews.

As per Violet's wishes, there was to be no service, and instead goodbyes were said in a private family gathering, followed by cremation.

There will be a celebration of life in mid-December to be held in her home in Grand Forks. Date to follow.
