Bill recently declared that he has "LIVED A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE"; experiencing everything from farming with horses on his parent's farm to the wonders of modern times.

He was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. A Veteran; Bill was stationed in the Maritimes during World War II as an Aircraft Mechanic. After the war, he was employed at Cominco until his July, 1983 retirement.

Being an avid curler, former ball player, and hockey fan enabled him to become a sports authority beyond the scope of many TV sports commentators.

Bill and wife Doris enjoyed many years of outdoor activities in our "Wonderful Kootenays." Among their fondest memories were several fishing adventures on the Island and Sunshine Coast with their son Brian.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Doris, his two siblings and is survived by his son Brian, daughter Sharon (Rob) Clements, grandsons Tadd (Lindsay) Clements, Tim (Sasha) Clements, and great-grandson Forest.

Thanks to all who helped Bill to stay at home until his passing; especially Brian, long-time Care Aide Cathy, as well as Care Aides Denise and Judy.

We will miss seeing "pounding the pavement" in Rivervale and "burning donuts" with his walker at Walmart.

There will be no service by his request. Brent Long of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family's online register at www.myalternatives.ca
