William Ernest Shepherd (Bill) passed away in Kelowna, June 24, 2017 at the age of 93.
Bill was born in Trail March 29, 1924, the son of Alice and Harry Shepherd.
He was educated in Trail and took his apprenticeship as a machinist in England.
He served in the British merchant navy during and after WW2. He returned to Trail in 1951 joining the machine shop at Cominco where he worked for the next 33 years.
He was a member of the Kiwanis club and served for several years on the board of Kiro Manor.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, wives Anne, Nellie and Muriel.
Survived by children Harry (Vernon); Maureen; Linda (Kelowna); Wayne (Nanaimo); Heather (Sussex N.B.), 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was cremated and at his request no service was held.
