Working side by side for a bride last summer resulted in a union of another sort.

Lisa Frisk of Frisk Esthetics and Make-up, has partnered with Leah Lindgren, owner of Aria-Art of Hair, and is now open for business in the downtown Trail salon.

“After working together for a bride, Leah told me about her new salon,” said Frisk.

Creative ideas started to flow, because at the time, Frisk had already decided that it was time for a change in her work life.

“I’ve spent much of my career working for two wonderful yet very different spas,” she said.

“I was ready to start doing my own make-up and esthetics.”

Frisk said that from the start, both she and Lindgren knew that their businesses would work great together.

“We both believe in having a more eco-friendly business using natural products.”

“Leah and I had a couple of meetings and came up with the idea of me renting out the room that used to have a tanning booth,” said Frisk.

In June, Lindgren took ownership of the Chad Edward Salon, located on the corner of Pine and Farwell streets in downtown Trail.

With help from family and friends, the salon received a facelift and now has a bright and modern vibe.

Aria-art of hair, carries the Onesta hair care line, which is completely chemical free and organic.

Frisk carries natural and organic products from the SpaRitual, Whish and the Youngblood mineral makeup line.

Frisk graduated from Blanche MacDonald Centre in Vancouver in 2002, with an esthetics diploma and license.

She is the sole make up artist and esthetician at the salon, and Lindgren employs two senior stylists and three junior stylists.

The partners are kept busy working in tandem with wedding preparations, said Frisk.

“We are able to travel to the brides, which works out great for everybody.”

The salon is open Monday to Saturday.  Call 364-2213 for more information or to book an appointment.
