KSCU tops as a boss

Kootenay Savings Credit Union (KSCU) was tapped as one of the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in Canada for the second year in a row Wednesday.

Kootenay Savings Credit Union (KSCU) was tapped as one of the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in Canada for the second year in a row Wednesday.

The annual award, given out by the company I Love Rewards, recognizes employers who display leadership and innovation in engaging their employees and inspire enhancements in the workplace.

“We’re quite thrilled,” said Brent Tremblay, chief executive of KSCU. “We’re very pleased to be recognized this way, especially for the second year running.”

Tremblay said the company really believes in having an engaged workforce because they know there’s a direct correlation between engaged employees and quality of service.

“The results of our member surveys point to a great level of service satisfaction and that only happens when you have good employees and employees who are engaged and want to be part of the organization.”

The list includes companies like B.C Housing, BP Canada Energy, Cineplex Entertainment, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd., The Johnson Corporation, Molson Coors Canada and Workopolis.

“It’s pretty impressive, we’re definitely one of the smaller companies,” Tremblay said.

“We’re thrilled to honour those companies that are truly committed to creating positive, thriving work environments,” said Razor Suleman, founder and CEO of I Love Rewards, in a news release.

“These companies understand that their employees are their greatest asset and are leading by example as they revolutionize the workplace.”

Contenders applied to the list and winners were chosen based on eight elements of employee engagement, including communication, leadership and professional and personal growth.

I Love Rewards is an employee recognition solution company that recognizes brilliant performance and empowers employees to choose their own rewards.
