Trail native Craig Cunningham returned home to drop the ceremonial puck for First Responders Night on Wednesday at the Cominco Arena. Facing off are Trail Smoke Eaters captain Braeden Tuck and Wenatchee Wild’s Lucas Sowder. Rick Basso, on behalf of the Trail Hockey Club Society, donated $2,000 to Cunningham’s All Heart Foundation, which focuses on using smart technology to predict sudden cardiac arrest. Two years ago, Cunningham, the Tucson Roadrunner captain, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest on the ice prior to a Roadrunners game and was saved by first responders.
